A youth rally was held in Shyamnagar to express solidarity with the Palestinian people and to call for the freedom of those trapped in Gaza. The rally took place on Friday after Jumu'ah prayers in Hawalvangi of Atulia Union, organized by the volunteer group Sundarban Students Solidarity Team and local youth. Presided over by SSS T’s member-secretary Md. Saidul Islam, speakers at the rally included Hafiz Maulana Abdur Rahman, imam and khatib of Hawalvangi Baitul Mokarram Jame Mosque; mosque treasurer Md. Rasel Hossain; and SSS T’s senior volunteers Mohammad Zahid, Masud Rana, Mostafizur Rahman, Rashidul Islam, Rokibul Hasan, among others. Speakers at the rally said that despite international human rights charters and United Nations declarations, the Palestinian people have long been subjected to oppression and blockade. At one point during the rally, Al Mujahid Tuhin, president of the youth wing of Ward No. 6 of Atulia Union, and other leaders joined in solidarity.
