
156 students, 10 teachers get DU Arts Faculty Dean Awards

The Dean's Award for the Faculty of Arts, Dhaka University has been presented for three years (2021, 2022 and 2023).
The Dean's Award for the Faculty of Arts, Dhaka University has been presented for three years (2021, 2022 and 2023).
The awards were distributed to students and teachers at a ceremony held at the Nawab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban on Tuesday.
A total of 156 students from 17 departments of the faculty received the Dean's Award. In addition, 10 teachers were given the Dean's Award in four categories for research books published in the country/abroad and original articles published in recognized journals.
Dean of the Faculty of Arts Prof Dr. Mohammad Siddiqur Rahman Khan presided over the program, with Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan as the chief guest and Pro-Vice Chancellor (Admin) Prof Dr. Saima Haque Bidisha as the special guest.
Dean of the Faculty of Arts Prof Dr. Mohammad Siddiqur Rahman Khan presided over the program, with Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan as the chief guest and Pro-Vice Chancellor (Admin) Prof Dr. Saima Haque Bidisha as the special guest.
Former Dean of the Faculty of Arts Professor Dr. Sadrul Amin spoke as the Dean's Award Speaker. The department chairmen announced the names of the students who received the Dean's Award. Dean of the Faculty of Arts Professor Dr. Mohammad Siddiqur Rahman Khan announced the names of the teachers who received the Dean's Award. Professor of the Department of Philosophy Dr. Shah Kawsar Mustafa Abululai proposed the vote of thanks at the program. Deans of various faculties, chairmen of various departments, directors of the institute, provosts, proctors, faculty teachers, registrars and guardians were present.
The program began with the national anthem. Then, readings from the holy scriptures were held. The program also included a delightful cultural program performed by the students of the faculty.

Mostafa and Prof Dr. Mohammad Ilyas of the Department of World Religions and Culture, Dr. Shantu Barua of the Department of Pali and Buddhist Studies, and Dr. Kamrul Hasan Chowdhury of the Department of English.
Speaking as the chief guest at the event, Dhaka University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan said, "We are very happy to be able to evaluate talent. At the same time, we have been able to keep the guardians with us. In fact, you are also a part of us."
The Vice Chancellor said, "One of the foundations of talent is hard work. We must remember that many people contribute to success. You have maintained the long-standing tradition of Dhaka University. This is our pride."
Speaking as a special guest, Dhaka University Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Professor Dr. Saima Haque Bidisha said, "This program is a source of great pride for our university.
In his speech, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Prof Dr. Mohammad Siddiqur Rahman Khan said, "Today's event is a glorious and special day of celebration for us. However, we should not be complacent with this achievement.
