
3 firearms, 4 rounds of ammunition recovered in Maheshkhali

Bangladesh Coast Guard has seized three firearms and four rounds of live ammunition in Maheshkhali upazila of Cox’s Bazar on Sunday.
This information was shared through a press release by Coast Guard media officer Lieutenant Commander Siam-ul-Haque on Sunday afternoon.
According to the press release, acting on a tip-off, a special operation was conducted by Coast Guard Station Maheshkhali at 3:30 AM on Sunday in the Buzruk Para area of Kutubjom in Maheshkhali. During the operation, a search of the area led to the recovery of three locally made firearms (pistols) and four rounds of live ammunition.
The press release also mentioned that the criminals managed to flee upon sensing the presence of the Coast Guard, so no arrests were made.
Legal procedures regarding the seized weapons are currently underway.
The Coast Guard assured that such operations will continue in the future to maintain law and order in the country.
