 Concern has spread among parents as children in Nilphamari are being admitted to the hospital one after another with measles symptoms. 6 children who fell ill with fever, cough and body rash are being treated in the isolation ward of Nilphamari General Hospital.On Thursday afternoon, the hospital's Resident Medical Officer Dr. Debashish Sarkar confirmed the matter.The children admitted to the hospital include Ayesha Akhter's five-month-old son Mizan Mia and two-year-old Samrat Islam from Balapara Sukanganj area of Dimla upazila, Jihad Babu, two-year-old son of Liju Begum from Panchpukur area of Sadar upazila, one-year-old child Rayyan from Kanchanpara area of Debirdanga, two-year-old son Abdul Jobayer of Babli Akhter and two-and-a-half-year-old Maisha.Hospital sources said that these children came to the hospital with measles symptoms in the last two days. They have been kept in the isolation ward due to the fear of infection. Samples have already been collected and sent to Dhaka for testing. Once the report is received, it will be confirmed whether they are really infected with measles. Babli Begum, mother of child Jobayer, said, “First there was fever, diarrhea and cold-cough. After being brought to the hospital, a rash and swelling suddenly appeared on the body in the afternoon. That is when the doctors informed about the fear of measles.” In this regard, Resident Medical Officer Dr. Debashish Sarkar said, “Currently, the children are being kept in isolation and treated. All the necessary tests have been done. Only after receiving the report can it be said for sure whether it is measles.” Nilphamari Civil Surgeon Abdur Razzak told reporters, "We are seriously monitoring the matter of six children being admitted to the hospital with measles symptoms. 

 

Their samples have already been collected and sent for testing. After receiving the report, it will be known for sure whether they are infected with measles."
