6-year old girl raped in Sundarganj

In Natun Dulal village, Kanchibari Union, Sundarganj Upazila, Gaibandha, a 6-year-old girl named Ayesha has been critically injured due to rape and is receiving treatment at Gaibandha Sadar Hospital. She is reportedly the daughter of Ajahar Ali from the same village.
According to locals, on Tuesday evening, Ayesha (6) was playing in the courtyard with other children. At that time, Saidul Islam (50), a father of three and son of the deceased Tofazzal Hossain from neighboring Uttar Sreepur village, took her to a jute field and began raping her. Hearing her cries, other children rushed to inform Ayesha’s mother. Sensing the situation, the rapist fled. Locals later rescued Ayesha in critical condition and rushed her to Gaibandha Sadar Hospital for treatment. Locals report that she is still not out of danger. A tense atmosphere prevails in the area.
Meanwhile, allegations have emerged that a certain group is making strong efforts to hush up the incident. Local Union Parishad Chairman Manowar Alam Sarker confirmed the incident. As of the time of writing this report, Sub-Inspector Deepak Chandra from Kanchibari Police Investigation Center was visiting the crime scene.
