Members of the Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP) rescued two missing children from the Motijheel Metro Rail station in the capital and the Raipur Upazila Health Complex in Lakshmipur on Tuesday restoring them safely to their families within hours.
According to an official press release signed by Md. Najmus Sakib, Assistant Director and Public Relations Officer of Bangladesh Ansar and VDP, seven-year-old Md. Tamim was spotted crying at Platform 2 of Motijheel Metro Rail station at around 3:00 PM by APC Md. Roknuzzaman. As the child was unable to provide his parents' address or phone numbers, the Ansar officer promptly took him into safe custody.
Following announcements broadcast across the metro rail network via the station controller, Tamim's parents arrived at the scene. The child was handed over to his family after verification in the presence of station officials and MRT Police.
Earlier at around 11:00 AM, three-year-old Arosh went missing while accompanying family members for medical treatment at the Raipur Upazila Health Complex in Lakshmipur. Upon receiving the news, Ansar members APC Jahangir Hossain and Abdul Motaleb launched a search across the hospital compound and located the child unharmed. Arosh was subsequently reunited with his mother in the presence of the hospital's Resident Medical Officer (RMO).
Expressing deep gratitude, the mothers of both children praised the prompt and responsible actions of the on-duty Ansar personnel.
