Attempt to molest 10-year-old schoolgirl in Chunarughat, madrasa teacher arrested

Chunarughat police arrested a madrasa teacher named Md. Zubair Ahmed (24) on charges of molesting and attempting to rape a 10-year-old schoolgirl in Chunarughat, Habiganj.
The heinous incident took place on Sunday (May 10) morning at Amkandi Abu Hurayra Noorani Madrasa in Ward No. 8 of Chunarughat Municipality. The arrested Zubair is the son of Abdul Qadir of Ramshri village in Bahubal Upazila. He was working as a teacher in that madrasa.
According to police and complaint sources, the victim is a 6th grade student of a local girls' high school. Like every day, she goes to the mosque to study Arabic in the morning. As the regular Huzoor was absent, Zubair Ahmed taught the students as a substitute teacher. After the lesson, around 8 am, Zubair took some students to a neighboring madrasa on the pretext of washing the tiffin bowls and sweeping the madrasa.
After tactfully sending the other students to the balcony and outside, Zubair took the student to his room and closed the door from the inside. At one stage, he grabbed the student and tried to molest her and forcibly remove her clothes with the intention of raping her. At this time, the student's screams and the calls of other classmates outside forced the lustful teacher Zubair to open the door. The victim ran home and informed her father about the matter. The victim's father, Md. Jamal Mia, filed a written complaint with Chunarughat Police Station. Immediately after receiving the complaint, a smart team of Chunarughat Police

OC of Chunarughat Police Station said, "We have taken prompt action on the allegation of molestation of a minor student and the accused has been arrested. Appropriate legal proceedings are underway against him."
