
Bangladeshi driver killed in Saudi raod mishap

A Bangladeshi driver, Mizanur Rahman (48), was killed in a road accident in Saudi Arabia.
The incident occurred around 5:00 AM Bangladesh time on Monday (21 April) in the Mahayel area of Abha city, Saudi Arabia.
The deceased, Mizanur Rahman, was a resident of Adsha village in Gupti Paschim Union of Faridganj upazila, Chandpur district. He was the son of the late Ershad Mizi and the father of a son and a daughter. His death was confirmed by his cousin, Md. Parvez Mosharraf.
Parvez Mosharraf stated that Mizanur Rahman used to drive a cargo transport vehicle in Saudi Arabia. On Sunday night (20 April) at around 2:00 AM local time, while crossing the road after loading goods onto his vehicle, he was hit by a speeding car. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
Family members received the news of his death on Monday afternoon. Arrangements are underway to repatriate his body. Parvez added that Mizanur had been living in Saudi Arabia for the past 21 years in search of a livelihood and had last visited Bangladesh just last year. News of his death has cast a pall of grief over his family and the local community.
Faridganj UNO Sultana Razia said, “We have been informed about the unfortunate death of an expatriate named Mizanur Rahman in a road accident in Saudi Arabia. He was a resident of Gupti Paschim Union. All necessary support will be provided to bring his body back home.”
