
BIWTA rescue team visits Daulatdia ferry terminal

The rescue team of the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTA) have inspected the Daulatdia ferry ghat area, known as the gateway to 21 districts of Goalando upazila of Rajbari on Monday afternoon.
They inspected the erosion-affected areas of all the ferry and launch piers in Daulatdia.
Present at the time were Goalanda Upazila Executive Officer Md. Nahidur Rahman, BIWTA Member Engineer (Member) Engineering AKAM Fazlul Haque, Chief Engineer Chief Engineer Mohidul Islam, Executive Engineer of Aricha Office Nepal Chandra Debnath, among others.
During this time, they inspected the erosion-affected areas of Daulatdia Ferry Ghat area and asked to take action where sand-filled geo bags are urgently needed to protect the ghat. They instructed all concerned to ensure that there is no disruption in the passage of vehicles at the ghat. They also said that we will discuss with the Chairman of BIWTA and take action to protect the ghat from erosion.
