BNP govt will not let sacrifices of July sprit go in vain: LGRD State Minister Shahe Alam

State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Mir Shahe Alam said, the martyrs of July did not give their lives for any individual or party; they sacrificed their lives to realize the dream of a non-discriminatory, just and democratic Bangladesh.
Their blood debt can never be repaid. If we can build a humane, well-governed and prosperous Bangladesh by adopting their ideals, only then will their sacrifice be given the true dignity.
He said these as the chief guest at the inauguration of the July Shahid Smriti Football Tournament at the Shibganj Government Pilot Model High School ground on Saturday afternoon.
He also said that sports are not just a means of entertainment, it instills discipline, patriotism, brotherhood and unity among the youth.
Shibganj UNO Ziaur Rahman presided over the program, and Deputy Commissioner Taufiqur Rahman, Upazila BNP President SM Tajul Islam, General Secretary Adv. Abdul Wahab and others spoke as special guests. I
In the opening match of the tournament, Mokamtala Upazila XI and Shibganj Upazila XI faced each other. This competitive match ended in a 2-2 draw. Thousands of sports-loving spectators were present at the field to watch the game.
