Body of schoolgirl recovered in Mirzaganj 48 hours after missing

The recovery of the body of Israt Jahan Yuthi (16), a schoolgirl who had been missing for two days in Mirzaganj, Patuakhali, has created extreme tension and mystery in the area.
On Thursday morning, police recovered her body from a dry pit adjacent to a betel nut tree next to her house in Andua village of Dakshin Ghatak. The mysterious death of the schoolgirl is raising various questions in the minds of the locals.
The deceased, Israt Jahan Yuthi, was the daughter of Md. Jamal Howlader, a resident of Andua village in South Ghatak, and a class 10 student of Subidkhali R. E. Pilot Government Secondary School.
According to family sources, Yuthi left home on Tuesday morning to take part in the annual examination. However, she did not return home even after the specified time for the examination had passed. At around 4 pm, her mother went to the school and found out that Yuthi had not gone to school that day and had not even taken the examination. After that, despite searching everywhere possible, including her relatives, a general diary was filed with Mirzaganj Police Station, but no trace of her was found.
The deceased's father, Md. Jamal Howlader, said that after the disappearance, a woman next to the house first saw Juthi's shoes lying there. On Thursday morning, he went with the woman to identify and search the place where the shoes were found. At one point, they saw the girl's frozen body lying in a dry pond next to the Paner Barge, screamed and informed the police with the help of locals.
Upon receiving the news, a team from Mirzaganj Police Station quickly reached the spot, prepared a post-mortem report on the body and arranged to send it to the hospital morgue for an autopsy.
Mirzaganj Police Station OC Touhiduzzaman confirmed the incident and said, "As soon as we received the news, the police recovered the body from the scene. Our investigation is underway to determine whether it was a natural death or a planned murder. Once we receive the full autopsy report, the exact cause of death will be known and legal action will be taken accordingly."
