Coast Guard operation : Two oil tankers with huge diesel seized while selling illegally in Patenga

The Bangladesh Coast Guard has seized two oil tankers with a large quantity of diesel and arrested 9 smugglers during the sale of illegally stored fuel oil (diesel) in Patenga, Chittagong on Wednesday.
Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujan gave this information through a press release on Wednesday night.
The press release said that a special operation was conducted by Coast Guard Outpost Patenga on Wednesday at 3 pm, based on secret information, in the area adjacent to the Red Buoy of the Karnaphuli Channel under Patenga Police Station in Chittagong. During the operation, the illegally stored fuel oil (diesel) in the oil tanker named “OT Qurban Ali Shah” located in the area, along with 17,400 liters of diesel worth about 20 lakh taka while being sold to “OT Sea Star”, were seized. During this time, 9 smugglers involved in the illegal sale were arrested.
Further legal action against the seized diesel, the oil tankers and the arrested smugglers has been taken.
