Under the direction of the current government, two special operations, "Operation Restore Peace in Sundarbans" and "Operation Mangrove Shield", are being conducted under the leadership of the Bangladesh Coast Guard to eliminate all active forest pirate forces in the Sundarbans and ensure security in the coastal areas.
In continuation of this, based on secret information, it was learned that a gang of robbers was staying in the area adjacent to the Shela River Forest Office of the Sundarbans under Mongla police station of Bagerhat for the purpose of robbery. Based on the information received, a special operation was conducted in the area yesterday (October 7) at 8 pm by the Coast Guard Base Mongla. During the operation, the members of the gang of robbers fled deep into the Sundarbans after sensing the presence of the Coast Guard. No one could be arrested or identified.
Later, a search was conducted in the area and 6 single-barrel guns, 3 air guns, 1 pipe gun trigger, and 14 rounds of fresh cartridges were recovered in a unique manner.
Further legal action regarding the recovered weapons and ammunition is under process.
It is hoped that through the government's instructions, everyone's cooperation, and the coordinated efforts of other law enforcement agencies, it will be possible to completely free the Sundarbans from bandits.
