Discussion on implementation of strategic plan of Bangladesh Police Women Network in Rajshahi

A series of nationwide discussions were held at the POM Conference Hall of Rajshahi Police Lines on 14th June 2026 as part of "Implementation of BPWN Strategic Plan 2024-2027". 84 police officers and senior leaders from Rajshahi Division/Range gathered in this day-long workshop
Atiya Husna, Additional Deputy Inspector General (Finance), Police Headquarters, sincerely thanked all the distinguished guests for their valuable time and said, “Bangladesh Police is becoming a technology-based and humane institution.
Currently, there are about 18,000 female police members working in Bangladesh. Along with increasing this number, their capacity and leadership development are equally important. BPWN has been playing an important role in this journey since the beginning. Today’s workshop is a continuation of that.”
BPWN representatives conducted several thematic sessions to discuss key areas of the BPWN strategic plan, ways to maintain work-life balance, ensuring digital safety, and ways to address gender-based violence with technology. UN Women representatives highlighted gender-sensitive policing and measures to prevent sexual harassment in the workplace at the workshop.
Mohammad Shahjahan, PPM (Bar), PhD, Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Rajshahi Range, Bangladesh Police, inaugurated the police workshop and was present as the chief guest.
He said, “Women officers need to focus on enhancing their capabilities and skills. It is not possible to achieve the expected performance without sincere responsibility and commitment to the profession.
The representative of the European Union, Ms. Laila Jasmine Banu, expressed her sincere gratitude to the guests and the officials of BPWN. She said, “Bangladesh Police Women Network is an important institutional platform.
Participants emphasized strengthening the sexual harassment complaint resolution system, reviving the existing sexual harassment prevention committees, and informing all members of the force about this.
