The District Development and Coordination Committee held a meeting on Sunday to review and accelerate regional development activities at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner in Sherpur, chaired by Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Farida Yasmin.

The meeting was attended by the district’s lawmakers, including Rashedul Islam Rashed (Sherpur-1), Mohammad Fahim Chowdhury (Sherpur-2, Nalitabari-Nakla), Mahmudul Haque Rubel (Sherpur-3, Sreebordi-Jhenaigati), and Member of Parliament for the reserved women's seat, Sansila Jebrin Priyanka.

During the session, speakers focused on streamlining the district's overall development framework. Key topics of discussion included the progress of ongoing projects, infrastructure development, healthcare services, education, agriculture, fisheries, food security, and the improvement of law and order. Department heads were provided with specific directives to overcome bottlenecks and accelerate the pace of project implementation to ensure timely delivery of public services.

Other notable attendees included Superintendent of Police AKM Zahirul Islam, Chief Executive Officer of the Zila Parishad Dipankar Roy, Deputy Director (Local Government) Arifa Siddika, and Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md. Shakil Ahmed, along with heads of various government departments in the district.

Participants expressed optimism that the district administration and all relevant stakeholders are working tirelessly to ensure the sustainable and integrated development of Sherpur. The meeting concluded with a call for continued collaboration among all departments to achieve the district's socio-economic goals
