Companyganj ( Noakhali) Correspondent
Allegations have found that a Facebook account of an expatriate has been hacked and is being used for defamatory activities at Companyganj in Noakhali.
The victim, Md. Shahadat Hossain Pavel, is a resident of Ward No. 8 of Basurhat Municipality in Companiganj upazila and has been living in Saudi Arabia for several years.
Shahadat Hossain Pavel stated that an unknown individual opened a Facebook account using his name and photo, and has been posting obscene comments and immoral content on various other accounts.
This has sparked mixed reactions among his friends, relatives, and well-wishers. In response, Shahadat’s wife Farzana Akter lodged a General Diary (GD) at the Companiganj Police Station.
Shahadat Hossain said, “Someone is conspiring to damage my reputation and create enmity between me and political leaders by using my name and image. I suspect this could be the work of individuals from my area with whom I had financial dealings—they may have done this out of revenge.”
He added, “I plan to return to the country soon and take legal action regarding this incident.”
The family has already sought help from the administration, and Shahadat urged the authorities to identify those behind the false propaganda and take appropriate legal action against them.
