Farmer dies after being hit by train in Chuadanga

A farmer named Ramzan Ali (70) died after being run over by a train in Mominpur area of Chuadanga.The incident took place in front of Mominpur Cemetery in Chuadanga Sadar Upazila at around 10:30 am on Thursday (April 2).The deceased, Ramjan Ali, was the son of the late Murad Ali of Betbaria village in Jehala union of Alamdanga upazila of Chuadanga. He was an imam of a local mosque in addition to his agricultural work.According to local sources, Ramzan Ali inadvertently fell under the train while the Khulna-bound Sagardari Express train, which left Rajshahi, was passing by the scene. As a result, his body was dismembered and he died on the spot.Family members of the deceased Ramzan Ali said that he had been taking care of his agricultural land in addition to leading the mosque for a long time. Like every day, this morning too, he was going to the field with a plow, yoke or agricultural equipment.Chuadanga Railway Police Outpost Sub-Inspector (SI) Jagadish Chandra Basu, quoting the deceased's family members, said that Ramzan Ali was going to his land through the railway line for agricultural work. At that time, he inadvertently fell under the train and died on the spot. After preparing the post-mortem report, the body was handed over to the family without an autopsy.
