BNP Vice Chairman and former Home Minister Altaf Hossain Chowdhury has said, during BNP’s tenure in power, no oppression was carried out against minorities. On the contrary, the BNP government undertook several initiatives to improve their quality of life.
However, after the Awami League came to power following the BNP government’s departure, they started filing false cases against BNP leaders and activists. Altaf Hossain Chowdhury further stated that BNP is a large political party and he does not see any factionalism or conflict within it. However, agents of India’s RAW and certain Awami League supporters have infiltrated BNP and are trying to create internal divisions.
