Fields smiling in Haripur even on 'Mongar' day : Paddy cultivation revolution under right guidance of Upazila Agriculture Office

In Haripur Upazila of Thakurgaon, the months of Ashwin and Kartik are generally considered as 'Manga' or months of scarcity. At this time of the year, there is no crop or work in the fields of farmers. From daily wage laborers to ordinary farmers, everyone's pockets are tight and they have to live on loans. However, this year, there has been an exceptional change in that traditional picture.
With the timely advice and guidance of the Upazila Agriculture Office, farmers of Haripur have now turned to hybrid rice cultivation and have achieved incredible success. Haripur Upazila Agriculture Officer Syed Shahinur Islam said that this time hybrid rice has been cultivated on a total of 2,110 hectares of land in Haripur Upazila.
Farmers Majedur and Rafiq of Amgaon Union shared their experience and said, "One day we went to the Haripur Upazila premises. There, we saw the Upazila Agriculture Officer talking to some farmers and advising them to cultivate hybrid rice in a short time. After listening to Sir's advice, we cultivated hybrid rice and got quite successful in it. If the weather is good, God willing, we will be able to harvest rice next week."
Expressing satisfaction over the farmers' success, Upazila BNP General Secretary Abu Taher said, "Under the guidance of the current Agriculture Officer, farmers have been able to produce fertilizers, seeds and crops properly. Such effective advice from the Agriculture Office has revolutionized the production of untimely crops in Haripur and will greatly alleviate the poverty of the people."
Freedom fighter Mujibur Rahman of Haripur Upazila said, "It is a matter of great joy that the farmers are harvesting crops at their homes at untimely times due to the initiative of the current Agriculture Officer.
UNO Chandan Kar praised the work of the Haripur Upazila Agriculture Officer and said, the current Agriculture Officer is a skilled agriculturist. Under his guidance, great progress has been made in Haripur Upazila in controlling crop diseases, cultivating crops at the right time and harvesting them.
Currently, golden rice grains are turning a touch of ripe color across field after field. In a few days, farmers will be able to harvest their hard-earned harvest. If the weather is favorable and there are no natural disasters or calamities, they are hoping for a bumper harvest.
Farmers of Haripur are overjoyed with the harvest of paddy in their fields in this difficult time of scarcity. At the same time, they sincerely thanked the Upazila Agriculture Office for providing the inspiration and sound advice behind this success.
