Free medical vamp in Mehendiganj provides treatment, medicine to thousand patients

In Mehendiganj, Barishal, a free medical camp provided treatment and free medicine to nearly a thousand patients. Significant discounts were offered for necessary diagnostic tests, and three thousand oral saline packets were distributed free of cost.
The camp was organized by Prof Maulana Mohammad Abdul Jabbar, Chairman of Mehendiganj Al-Islam Trust and a potential parliamentary candidate nominated by Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami for the Barisal-4 (Mehendiganj-Hizla-Kazirhat) constituency.
The day-long camp, held on Friday from 8 AM at the premises of the government Patarhat Muslim Model High School, was inaugurated in the presence of notable figures, including Dr. Mahbubur Rahman, retired Barisal Divisional Health Director, Maulana Shahidul Islam, Secretary of Al-Islam Trust and Amir of Mehendiganj Upazila Jamaat, Maulana Mahiuddin, Naib-e-Amir of Upazila Jamaat, Maulana Saifullah, Secretary, Maulana Ibrahim Khalil, Assistant Secretary, and Maulana Amanullah Baker, Amir of Mehendiganj Municipality Jamaat, among others.
Specialist doctors providing treatment included Medicine Specialist Dr. Md. Mahbubur Rahman, Gastroenterology Specialist Dr. Masud Khan, Pediatric Specialist Dr. Gazi Mahmud Hasan Rusho, Gynecology Specialist Dr. Kazi Taukia Rahman, Dental Surgeon Dr. Farhana Naznin Ratna, and Medical Officer Dr. Naim Sakir.
The camp was supported by Islami Bank Hospital, Barisal, with representatives including Marketing Officers Md. Zakir Hossain and Mohammad Yusuf, Acting Nursing In-Charge Aminul Islam, Acting Pharmacy In-Charge Md. Saifullah Mansur, Lab Technician Masum Billah, and Pharmacist Abul Bashar Akon, among others, overseeing operations.
The camp’s organizer, Prof Maulana Mohammad Abdul Jabbar, Amir of Barishal District Jamaat, remained present throughout the day, ensuring the well-being of the patients. Several patients expressed their gratitude, stating, “We often struggle to get appointments with doctors in Barisal, but today, thanks to Abdul Jabbar Bhai, these doctors came to our doorstep and provided free treatment. We also received medicines worth thousands of taka for free.
