The minister made the remarks when a two-member delegation led by French Ambassador to Bangladesh Jean-Marc Sere-Charlet paid a courtesy call on him at his office in the Bangladesh Secretariat in Dhaka.
During the meeting, Minister Saching Pru expressed optimism that the French government's existing cooperation toward the overall development of Bangladesh, particularly the CHT region, would continue in the future.
Both sides agreed to work more closely on key issues including eco-friendly tourism, maintaining law and order, balanced development, improving education quality, confronting climate change impacts, empowering women, ensuring safe drinking water supply, and safeguarding human rights in the CHT.
France's Governance and Humanitarian Attaché Emilie Palahoune and Private Secretary to the CHT Affairs Minister Mohammad Rashedul Huq were present during the bilateral discussions.
