Garment worker allegedly gang-raped in N’ganj

A 30-year-old female garment worker from Araihazar Upazila in Narayanganj district has allegedly been gang-raped. The incident reportedly occurred on Tuesday (May 13) at around 8:30 PM. The victim’s family took her to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) around midnight, where she has been admitted for treatment.
The victim's brother-in-law said, “My sister-in-law works at a local garment factory. Last night, while returning home through a neighborhood in Araihazar after work, two to three unknown men abducted her to a nearby jungle and raped her.”
He added, “Later, upon receiving the news, we rescued her from the spot and took her to Dhaka Medical, where doctors admitted her to the emergency department.”
Inspector Md. Faruk, in-charge of the police camp at DMCH, confirmed that the rape victim was brought in from Narayanganj the previous night. She is currently undergoing treatment, and the incident has been reported to the local police station.
