Global Climate Strike held in Shyamnagar

A Global Climate Strike was held on Friday along the Burigoalini-Kholpetua river in Shyamnagar upazila, Satkhira. Organized by YouthNet Global Satkhira team under the slogan “Justice and renewable energy: building a fossil-free future together,” speakers during the strike included YouthNet Global Satkhira district coordinator Ashikur Rahman, former coordinator Imam Hossain, member Shamim Hossain, Muntakimul Islam Ruhani, and coastal correspondent of the daily Patraduet A. Halim, among others. In their remarks they said that to protect future generations we must immediately reduce reliance on coal and oil and move toward renewable energy. They also called for a greener planet. Besides, Sharub Youth Team and Sundarbans Youth Solidarity Team in Shyamnagar upazila took part in the Global Climate Strike.
