Grabbing of land by dismissed OC Pradeep alleged
Chittagong Bureau
A press conference was held against suspended OC Pradeep Kumar Das, an accused in the widely discussed Teknaf Sinha murder case.
At the event, victim Mahiyuddin Chowdhury accused Pradeep—along with his sister Ratna Bala, Baby Chowdhury, Suman Chowdhury, Ranjit Chowdhury, Md. Nabi, Sujit Chowdhury, and Chattogram Metropolitan Chhatra League General Secretary Nurul Azim Rony—of illegally occupying land.
Mahiyuddin Chowdhury read out a written statement before the media at the conference room of Chattogram Metropolitan Journalists' Union on Thursday morning.
In his statement, he said that OC Pradeep unlawfully grabbed their purchased land and established settlements under the cover of night. He further alleged that during the previous government’s tenure, Pradeep and his associates used political connections to harass his family with false cases and threats.
Mahiyuddin demanded that their lawfully purchased land be returned to them and made a heartfelt appeal to the interim government and administration for justice and intervention.
Present at the press conference were KM Ali Akbar, Md. Asif Chowdhury, and other members of the affected family.
