Handwashing exhibition held in Satkhira on Global Handwashing Day

A colorful hand washing exhibition was held in Satkhira to celebrate Global Hand Washing Day-2026 with the theme “Be a Hand Washing Hero”. The event was organized on Wednesday at the premises of Satkhira Government Boys High School.
The event, jointly organized by the District Administration and the Department of Public Health Engineering, Satkhira District Branch, was inaugurated by the chief guest, Satkhira Deputy Commissioner Ms. Kausar Aziz. She formally inaugurated the event by releasing balloons and festoons in her presence.
The event was presided over by Md. Zahid Parvez, Executive Engineer of the Public Health Engineering Department, Satkhira, and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Ripon Biswas was present as the special guest.
Among others present at the event were - Satkhira Government Boys High School Headmaster Aminul Islam Tuku, Satkhira Press Club President GM Monirul Islam Mini, Public Health Engineering Department Assistant Engineer Moniruzzaman Monir, Estimator Md. Mofizur Rahman, Chief Assistant Md. Ibrahim Hossain Ripon and Cashier Shankar Kumar Biswas.
Also present among the representatives of development organizations were Sushilon Satkhira Deputy Director Moniruzzaman Moni, Executive Director of Naba Diganta Sangstha Md. Bazlur Rahman, and District Representative of High Soya Sangstha Md. Mizanur Rahman.
The speakers at the event highlighted the importance of proper hand washing for a healthy and healing lifestyle and demonstrated the correct hand washing techniques to the students present. Officers, employees, teachers and students from various levels of the Department of Public Health Engineering and schools were present at the event.
