
Heifer calves distributed to 75 registered poor fishermen in Muksudpur

With the slogan "If native fish are protected, food and nutrition are ensured", 75 registered poor fishermen of Muksudpur Upazila under Gopalganj district received heifer calves as part of an alternative income-generating support initiative.
This initiative falls under the project titled "Conservation and Development of Native Fish and Snail Species (First Revised)" for the fiscal year 2024–2025, implemented by the Department of Fisheries.
The calf distribution ceremony was held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM, presided over by Muksudpur UNO Tasnim Akter.
Speakers at the event included Senior Upazila Fisheries Officer Debala Chattroborty, Upazila Agriculture Officer Md. Bahauddin Sheikh, and Upazila Livestock Officer Jahangir Alam.
Muksudpur Press Club President Md. Shiru Mia and General Secretary Kazi Md. Ohidul Islam, Muksudpur Municipal BNP General Secretary Mashiur Rahman Mintu, Muksudpur Upazila BNP Office Secretary Kaiyum Sharif, and Upazila Swechchhasebak Dal Convener Mehedi Hasan Biplob, among others were present.
