Mahbubur Rahman Babul, Nandail (Mymensingh)
Repair and restoration work has officially begun on a damaged section of the Madhupur–Dewanganj Highway following the directive of Yaser Khan Chowdhury, State Minister for Information and Broadcasting.
The repair work is being carried out near Lakshipur Jame Mosque adjacent to Hatshira Bazar, where a large pothole and severe road erosion had caused significant inconvenience to commuters for a long time. During the rainy season, water accumulated in the damaged area, creating hazardous conditions for vehicles and pedestrians and disrupting regular traffic movement.
According to local sources, the deteriorated condition of the road recently drew public attention through social media. After becoming aware of the issue, State Minister Yaser Khan Chowdhury immediately instructed the concerned authorities to take necessary measures to restore the road.
Following his directive, workers from the contracting firm started earth-filling and repair work on Thursda (June 25.).
Officials involved in the project said the damaged section would be repaired as quickly as possible to ensure safe and smooth transportation for road users.
Local residents have expressed their gratitude to the State Minister for his prompt intervention and swift action. They hope the repair work will bring lasting relief to commuters and improve connectivity along the important Madhupur–Dewanganj Highway.
