JACSU hall elections nomination forms to submit by Aug 19

The long-anticipated Jahangirnagar University Central Students’ Union (JACSU) and hall union elections moved a step closer on Monday as the collection and submission of nomination forms formally began.
The process started at 9:00 am at the Election Commission office on the third floor of the old administrative building for JACSU, while nomination forms for hall unions were distributed and received at respective halls. The submission will continue until tomorrow, August 19.
Members of the JACSU Election Commission, including Prof. Mohammad Mafruhi Sattar, Prof. Dr. K.M. Lutful Elahi, Dr. Rezwana Karim Snigdha, and Member Secretary Prof. Dr. A.K.M. Rashidul Alam, were present during the opening of the process. The draft list of candidates will be announced on August 25 following scrutiny of the nomination papers.
Speaking to reporters, Member Secretary and JU Proctor Prof. Dr. Rashidul Alam said the university administration has taken all necessary measures to ensure a free, fair, and peaceful election. “After nearly 33 years, we are committed to creating an environment where candidates can campaign freely and voters can cast their ballots without fear,” he said.
