Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has promised to build a discrimination-free Bangladesh by taking everyone along if he gets the opportunity to form a government through the people’s direct vote.
Presenting three core conditions for running the country, he said that a system of governance based on justice and fairness will be the foundation of the new Bangladesh. He made these remarks as the chief guest at an election rally organized by the 11-party alliance in favor of the Balance Scale symbol at Bauphal Public Ground around 12 noon on Friday.
Dr. Shafiqur Rahman further said that if a government can be formed with the love and support of the people, there will be no extortion, tender manipulation, smuggling of the country’s money abroad, or commercialization of jobs.
Money laundered abroad will be brought back, because that money belongs to the people of the country. In development activities, neglected and deprived communities will be given priority, and no form of discrimination will be tolerated.
As conditions for governing the country, he clearly outlined three points. First, there will be no compromise with corruption. Second, justice must be ensured for everyone regardless of religion, caste, or gender, and the judiciary must be kept completely independent, free from political interference.
No one will be harassed with false cases. If it is proven that someone has harassed another by filing a false case, then legal action will be taken against the complainant and punishment will be ensured. Third, the long-standing politics of misrule, extortion, and discrimination must be brought to an end. He said that in the last 54 years, no one has worked for the country; they have worked for themselves.
He called upon the people of Bauphal to vote for the Balance Scale symbol in the upcoming National Parliamentary Election on February 12 for the development of Bauphal. After his speech, the chief guest handed over the Balance Scale symbol to the Balance Scale candidate Dr. Shafiqul Masud. At the same time, he also handed over the symbols to the alliance candidates of the four constituencies of the district.
The rally, presided over by Upazila Jamaat Ameer Mawlana Ishaham Mia, was addressed as special guests by former DUCSU Vice President Abu Sadeq Qayem, Jamaat Assistant Secretary General Advocate Moazzem Hossain Helal, District Ameer Adv Nazmul Hasan, Barishal Metropolitan Ameer Jahir Uddin Babar, Bauphal Balance Scale candidate Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud, along with alliance candidates of the four constituencies and leaders of the 11-party alliance.
