
Journalists demand justice for Tuhin murder in Madan

Journalists working in the Madan Upazila of Netrakona have held a human chain demanding justice for the murder of fellow journalist Asaduzzaman Tuahin. The hour-long protest was held on Sunday in front of the Madan Press Club.
The human chain, moderated by Press Club member Mosharraf Hossain Babul, featured speeches from several individuals.
Among them were Zakir Hossain Talukdar Ujjal, General Secretary of the Madan Press Club; Motahar Alam Chowdhury, a correspondent for Somokal; Al Amin Talukdar of Jay Jay Din; Tofazzal Hossain of Jugantor; Nijam Talukdar of Amar Desh; and Faiz Ahmad Hridoy, a regional correspondent for Kaler Kantho.
Additional speakers included Humayun Kabir, General Secretary of the Madan Upazila Juba Dal; Abdul Awal Fakir, President of the Madan Welfare Society for Retired Soldiers; and student coordinator Mahir Akanda Faisal. People from various professions and social strata joined the human chain to express their support for the journalists' demands.
Speakers at the event emphasized that the justice process for Tuahin's murder should not become a sham.
They demanded that the culprits be identified quickly and given exemplary punishment. There were also calls for the enactment and implementation of a special law to ensure the safety of journalists so that they can perform their duties without fear.
