July warrior 'Martyr Tanveer Road' turns into public nuisance in Moheshkhali
Md Ramjan Ali, Moheshkhali-Kutubdia (Cox's Bazar)
The earthen road from the tailor's house on the west side of Kalarmarchhara market to the house of July warrior martyr Tanveer Siddiqui has become a public nuisance, spanning more than half a kilometre.
While it is possible to travel on the road during the dry season, during the monsoon season, large potholes have formed, making it unsuitable for pedestrians.
Even a slight rain turns the road into knee-deep mud, making it difficult to walk, let alone for vehicles. With heavy rain, the muddy road merges with the ground, becoming indistinguishable. As a result, thousands of pedestrians, including those commuting to schools, colleges, mosques, and madrasas, as well as elderly and seriously ill patients, are facing extreme difficulties in their travel.
Specially during the monsoon season, pedestrians are enduring endless hardships while travelling on this road. The residents of the area live in fear of heavy rain at any moment.
Moheshkhali UNO Mohammad Hedayet Ullah said, in response to local residents' requests, the LGED has been instructed. Road repair work will begin soon.
