A 3-day Land Fair aimed at raising awareness and easing land-related services has begun in Ramu, along with similar events across the country.
UNO Md. Rashedul Islam inaugurated the Fair on Sunday morning at the Upazila Land Office premises. A rally was held to mark the occasion, followed by a discussion meeting chaired by Ramu Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Sajjad Zahid Ratul.
Speaking as the chief guest, UNO Md. Rashedul Islam said, land disputes are a common issue in Ramu. He emphasized the importance of resolving land matters directly through the land office instead of relying on intermediaries. “This fair aims to raise awareness and make land services more accessible to the public,” he added.
Assistant Commissioner Md. Sajjad Zahid Ratul noted that the land fair serves as a platform to inform and assist citizens. “Daily public hearings will be conducted throughout the fair to help resolve ongoing land-related complications in the upazila,” he said.
Several local officials and stakeholders attended the event, including Upazila Agriculture Extension Officer Sushanta Debnath, Garjania Union Land Officer Abul Kashem, Surveyor Mahbubur Rahman, journalists and land service recipients among others.
The theme of this year’s fair is: “Pay land development tax regularly, keep your land protected”. The event will conclude on May 27.
