Staff Correspondent

Land Minister Md. Mizanur Rahman Minu has directed relevant ministry officials to take prompt and effective measures to streamline land services for expatriate cardholders.

He issued these directives during a high-level meeting with Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Ariful Haque Choudhury at the minister's office in the Secretariat on Tuesday.

State Minister for Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Md. Nurul Haque and Ministry Secretary Md. Mokhtar Ahmed were present during the discussion, alongside other senior officials from both ministries.

During the meeting, Expatriates' Welfare Minister Ariful Haque Choudhury sought the Land Minister's cooperation in implementing a series of specialized facilities for expatriates. These proposals included introducing priority services for expatriate cardholders at land offices, enabling the online payment of land development taxes (khajna) using expatriate debit cards, expediting name-transfer (mutation) and other land services, establishing dedicated expatriate corners or help desks in land offices, and prioritizing the execution of Power of Attorney deeds.

In response, Land Minister Mizanur Rahman Minu said, as part of fulfilling the government's electoral commitments to ensure social dignity and enhanced service delivery for expatriates, the administration is introducing special expatriate cards.
