In Shyamnagar upazila of Satkhira, materials to promote self-reliance among disabled women from various areas were distributed on Thursday organized by WDD-DF with technical support from Jayita Disabled Women’s Development Organization and held at its own office. Under the WUGG project, funded by IDWRW-Asia Pacific, and presided over and overseen by WDD-DF Executive Director Ashrafun Nahar Misty, sewing machines, groceries and seat cloths were distributed according to needs to 12 disabled women. Speakers at the material assistance event, held to improve the quality of life of disabled women and integrate them into the mainstream of society, included WDD-DF Program Assistant Coordinator Sharmin Akter Dolon, Jayita Disabled Women’s Development Organization Executive Director Ostomi Malo, journalists, and disabled women, among others.
