Minati Roy voluntarily makes contributions to raise awareness about women’s health in Baraigram

In Baraigram Upazila of Natore, Minati Roy voluntarily is making an exceptional contribution toward preventing child marriage and raising awareness about women’s health. She is the wife of Akhil Roy—a man with a physical disability and an inhabitant of Bonpara Mridhapara village in Baraigram.
Minati was married into a poor family at the age of 12 years. Then she faced different problems due to early marriage. She shared those experiences to women for awareness-raising at "courtyard meetings" (informal community gatherings).
She works tirelessly to protect the rights of girls living in disadvantaged and remote areas. To educate the public about the detrimental consequences of child marriage, she organizes various awareness campaigns and community meetings. Furthermore, with the assistance of medical professionals, she facilitates free health camps focused on women’s reproductive health, nutrition, and menstrual hygiene.
She engages with women, listening to their struggles and hardships. Gradually, she brought them together to form an organization called "Amra Swadhin Mohila Samabay Samiti Ltd." Through this platform, she conducts seminars on how to eradicate child marriage from society.
