Mobile court  fines Global Enterprise Tk 1 lakh to prevent environmental pollution in connecting canal of  Halda River

Due to contamination of the Halda river's branch canal from polluted water waste, the upazila administration fined the organization one Lakh Taka on Monday  during an inspection in the Fetehabad, Charakuli area where it was reported that the factory was discharging polluted water directly into the connecting canal of the Halda river.uno Hathazari  Muhammad Abdullah Al Mumin and Executive Magistrate Mohammad Al Amin Hossain inspected various organizations including Global Enterprise and Al Razi on the spot.  
 
At this time, due to the finding of factual allegations against M/s Global Enterprise for stocking chemicals without an environmental clearance certificate and discharging chemical-laden water directly into the Charakuli canal through the drain, a mobile court was conducted and a fine of one lakh was imposed under the relevant section of the Environmental Conservation Act, 1995.  
 
The mobile court was conducted by Executive Magistrate Mohammad Al Amin Hossain. Overall cooperation was provided by the Department of Environment, Chattogram's prosecution team, and the hathazari police.  
 
To protect the environment of the Halda river, strict action will be taken against any individual or organization discharging chemicals, untreated waste, or any polluting substances through the river's connecting canal-chara, according to the prevailing laws.  
Such operations and monitoring by the upazila administration will continue.
