Mobile court fines Tk 30,000 in Betagi

A mobile court in Betagi upazila of Barguna has fined two establishments a total of Tk 30,000 during a drive on Thursday evening.

Acting UNO Bipul Sikder conducted the operation at two sweet shops owned by Yadav Debnath and Samir Biswas in Betagi municipality.

Yadav Debnath was fined Tk 10,000 for preparing food in an unhygienic environment and storing expired sweets, while Samir Biswas was fined Tk 20,000 for similar offenses. Around 70 kilograms of spoiled food were seized from the two shops.A

Acting UNO  Bipul Sikder said, a fine of Tk 30,000 has been imposed under the Consumer Rights Protection Act for preparing sweets in an unhygienic environment and storing expired food items. Such drives will continue in the future.
