In a statement, the division said 11,197 executive magistrate-led mobile courts have been conducting countrywide drives since March 3 to ensure smooth fuel supply amid an energy crunch triggered by the Middle East crisis.
During the operations, 3,90,209 litres of diesel, 40,846 litres of octane, 97,438 litres of petrol and 48,500 litres of furnace oil were recovered, the statement said.
It added that 4,053 cases were filed and 54 individuals were sentenced for illegally stockpiling petroleum.
The mobile courts also realised Taka 1,80,96,115 in fines during the 49-day period.
The Energy Division said the campaign will continue to ensure uninterrupted fuel supply and prevent irregularities in the distribution system.
It also urged citizens to report any information regarding illegal fuel stockpiling to designated vigilance teams.
