One arrested for tying brick around a dog's neck, throwing it into river in Narsingdi

Police have arrested a young man named Mohammad Ali (25) on charges of tying a brick around a dog's neck and throwing it into a river from a bridge in Narsingdi.
He was arrested around 5 pm on Thursday (June 25).
The arrested Mohammad Ali is the son of Abdur Rob Mia of Kamargaon area of Narsingdi town.
Police said the incident took place at around 11:30 am on Wednesday (June 24) in the Nagriyakandi Setu area of Narsingdi Sadar Upazila. The accused, with the help of some people, tied a brick around the neck of a dog and threw it into the Meghna River. Within a short time, the dog drowned in the river water.
A person present at the time of the incident recorded the entire incident on a mobile phone. Later, when the video went viral on social media, it sparked a strong reaction among netizens and the matter came to the attention of the district police.
Narsingdi Sadar Model Police Station OC Md. A.R.M. Al Mamun said that the accused was identified based on video footage and arrested in a quick raid.
