Patients of hospital, local people impressed by humanity of UNO, UHFPO in Araihazar

All the patients and local residents undergoing treatment at the hospital are impressed by the humanity of the UNO.and Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer (UHFPO) in Araihazar, Narayanganj.
On Saturday (July 4), they are basking in this appreciation by bringing a helpless patient who had consumed poison to his guardian and sending him to Dhaka in an ambulance at their own expense.
The news behind the incident is more complicated and heartbreaking. Just one mile away from Araihazar Upazila Health Complex is Kharia village in Kathalia Union of Madhabadi Police Station in Narsingdi. Someone or other brought Salatullah (50), an auto driver from that village, to the Araihazar Upazila Health Complex (50-bed) on Saturday afternoon. Patient Salatullah told reporters that his wife had forced him to drink poison with the intention of killing him.
As soon as he saw him, the doctor on duty at the hospital, Mehedi Hasan Shimul, started treating him. But when the patient's condition did not improve and instead deteriorated, the doctor did not find any guardian of the patient, so he reported the matter to the Health and Family Planning Officer, Dr. Habibur Rahman, who informed the Upazila Executive Officer Md. Asadur Rahman. The Upazila Executive Officer, along with his Ansar Bahini and THO, found out the patient's address and went to his house. When he got there, he was surprised to see the surrounding conditions of the house.
The patient's wife was spreading the news that patient Salatullah had died and was organizing a funeral in her husband's name at the house. Seeing this situation, UNO Md. Asadur Rahman used the Ansar Bahini to pick up the patient's wife and guardians from the hospital and sent them to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in an ambulance at his own expense. He did this with the overall cooperation of the doctor and the Ansars.
UNO Md. Asadur Rahman said, "Although the incident was outside my area, I had to do this much to try to save the patient, considering the humanitarian aspect."
