Under the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, a prize distribution ceremony was held as part of the Performance-Based Grants for Secondary Institutions Scheme (SEDP) under the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education, Ministry of Education.
The event was held on Thursday at 10:00 AM at the Sadar Upazila Auditorium, organized by the Sadar Upazila and District Education Offices.
The ceremony was presided over by Sadar Upazila Secondary Education Officer Narayan Chandra Mondal. Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Shoaib Ahmad was present as the chief guest.
Special guests included District Education Officer Muhammad Abul Khayer, Sadar Upazila Jamaat Ameer Maulana Mosharraf Hossain, Head Teacher of Satkhira Government High School Md. Aminul Islam Tuku, Principal of Satkhira Alia Kamil Madrasah Mufti Md. Akhtaruzzaman, Sadar Upazila Assistant Secondary Education Officer Md. Abul Hossain, and former Sadar Upazila BNP Convener Advocate Md. Nurul Islam, among others.
Other speakers at the event included Professor Md. Shafiul Alam of Satkhira Government Women's College, Head Teacher Ashraful Islam Khokon of Rasulpur Secondary School, Head Teacher Md. Anarul Islam of Ghona Secondary School, Professor Sirajul Islam of Alia Kamil Madrasah, and former Convener of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement in Satkhira Md. Arafat Hossain.
Parents and students also shared their thoughts and experiences. Among them were guardians Habibur Rahman and Monju Rani Debnath, as well as students Antara Anita from Satkhira Government Girls' High School and Walid Hasan from Satkhira Alia Kamil Madrasah.
A total of 39 meritorious students from 18 selected secondary and higher secondary educational institutions of Satkhira Sadar Upazila received awards. Each selected student at the secondary level received BDT 10,000, and each at the higher secondary level received BDT 25,000. Additionally, crests and certificates were distributed.
The entire event was hosted by Upazila Youth Development Officer S.M. Azizul Haque.
