Pubali Bank PLC has started the Bangla QR expansion program with the aim of developing Barisal as a 'cashless city' to make digital transactions more secure, easy and people-friendly.

On this occasion, a meeting titled 'Expansion of Bangla QR and Cashless Barisal' was held at the city's Ashwini Kumar Town Hall on Tuesday morning under the initiative of Pubali Bank PLC Barisal region. After the meeting, a colorful awareness rally was taken out in the city with the aim of implementing 'Cashless Barisal'.
Md. Mofizur Rahman Khan Chowdhury, Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank, Barisal Office, was present as the chief guest at the meeting held under the chairmanship of Md. Idrisur Rahman, Deputy General Manager (DGM) and Head of Branch of Pubali Bank PLC Barisal Branch.
Managers and officials of various branches of Pubali Bank, local businessmen, entrepreneurs, and relevant stakeholders were present at the event.

The speakers at the meeting said that to reduce the use of cash and ensure safe, fast and transparent digital transactions, it is necessary to spread the use of Bangla QR at all levels. There is no alternative to a coordinated initiative by banks, traders and customers to make cashless transactions popular and universal. They expressed hope that such awareness-raising and expansion activities of Pubali Bank will play an important role in strengthening the country's digital economy.

After the meeting, a rally was organized to tour the important roads of the city. Participants in the rally conveyed the message of increasing public awareness by highlighting the benefits of using Bangla QR, secure digital transactions, and various aspects of cashless banking.
Those concerned have expressed optimism that this initiative by Pubali Bank will further expand the digital payment system in Barisal and create new momentum in implementing the goal of building a 'Cashless Barisal'.
