A special seminar has been held in Satkhira to ensure proper nutrition of newborns and children and to increase awareness. On Sunday afternoon, Islami Bank Community Hospital Satkhira Ltd. organized the seminar on the second floor of the hospital building.

The program was presided over by Islami Bank Community Hospital Satkhira Administrative Officer and Hospital In-charge Muh. Mahbubur Rahman, and Satkhira Medical College and Hospital Associate Professor and renowned pediatrician Dr. M.D. Marufuzzaman was present as the chief guest and main discussant.

Speaking as the chief guest at the seminar, Dr. M.D. Marufuzzaman said, "The foundation of a child's future physical and mental development is laid during his newborn period and early childhood. If proper nutrition is lacking during this period, the child may suffer from various physical complications including permanent malnutrition. There is no alternative to mother's breast milk. After the child reaches six months of age, nutritious and balanced home-made food should be given in addition to mother's milk. Artificial and processed food from outside reduces the immunity of children. Therefore, everyone in every family, including parents, should be highly aware of the nutrition of children." In his speech as the president, Dr. Mahbubur Rahman said, "Islami Bank Community Hospital is not only providing medical services, but is also working tirelessly to increase public awareness. Such informative seminars will continue in the future to raise children healthy and strong."

Among others, the hospital's administrative officer, Manjurul Islam Khan, senior officer and accounts officer, Sheikh Shariful Awal, and RMO Dr. Md. Aslam Hossain were present in the seminar.
