Shrimp worker abducted killed in Moheshkhali

Five hours after the abduction of a worker from the shrimp farm at Kalarmarchhara in Moheshkhali, he was shot and hacked to death.
On Saturday late night, identified terrorists Tarek Bin Osman Sharif, Kalabada, Nazem Member, Rashid, and Long Tarek allegedly led the abduction of shrimp farm worker Tofail Ahmed (31) from the shrimp farms named 8 No. Inna and 15 No. Inna. Five hours later, they shot and hacked him to death and left his body at a place called Kalor Doa on the southern side of Kalarmarchhara market.
At 5 am, passersby saw the deceased Tofail Ahmed and informed his relatives. Subsequently, the police administration recovered the deceased Tofail Ahmed and sent him to the morgue for autopsy.
The deceased Tofail Ahmed was the younger brother of Nazmul Hasan, the joint convener of the Kalarmarchhara Union Youth Party, and one of the five children of the late Siddiq Ahmed Matabbar of the Khuswaro community in Kalarmarchhara.
The news of Tofail Ahmed's murder has cast a shadow of mourning over the area.
The deceased's family members stated that after the fall of the fascist government on 5 August 2024, the banned organization Awami League, along with its affiliates and associated organizations like Jubo League and Chhatra League, have taken on the form of a militant group, arming themselves and choosing the deep forests of the hills as a safe haven. They are continuing their terrorist activities from there.
They also stated that the identified terrorist, the general secretary of the Moheshkhali Upazila Awami League, Tarek Bin Osman Sharif, along with youth leader and terrorist Rashid, member Nazem, and Long Tarek's gang, abducted Tofail Ahmed (31) from the shrimp farms named 8 Jonny and 15 Jonny in the deep of night, shot him, and killed him with a machete. They also looted fish from two shrimp farms, along with goods worth about 20 lakh taka.
In this regard, the officer in charge (OC) of Moheshkhali police station, Manzurul Haque, stated that after receiving the news, the deceased Tofail Ahmed was rescued and sent to the morgue for an autopsy.
He further stated that an investigation into the incident of the deceased is ongoing, and the culprits will be arrested quickly and legal action will be taken.
Locals stated that the murderers need to be identified and brought to justice quickly; otherwise, crime will increase in the area.
