Special referendum campaign for women voters in Rajshahi

On the occasion of the upcoming referendum and the 13th National Parliament Election 2026, a special campaign program for women voters has been organized for the first time under the initiative of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. The program was organized on Tuesday morning at the auditorium of Rajshahi Women's College and the teachers' auditorium of Rajshahi College.
Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Mahbuba Farzana, was present as the chief guest at the event. She said, "Referendums and elections are important pillars of a democratic state. The role of young and first-time voters is very important in determining the future of the country by consciously voting for the candidate of your choice."
He told the students, "The key to change is now in your hands. To implement the reforms that the July Movement has created, we must vote 'yes' in the referendum." He also urged the students to spread awareness about the referendum among the people around them.
Rajshahi Divisional Commissioner Dr. ANM Bazlur Rashid, Rajshahi Deputy Commissioner Afia Akhtar, spoke as special guests at the event.
Rajshahi Women's College Principal Professor Md. Sarwar Jahan and Rajshahi College Principal Professor Dr. Md. Ibrahim Ali. They emphasized on increasing the participation of women voters, making informed decisions and staying away from rumors. They also urged people to vote 'yes' in the referendum for reforms.
Teachers and students of the two institutions, along with officials of the concerned departments, were present at the campaign event. At the end of the event, the students learned about various issues related to the referendum and elections in the question and answer session. During this time, the young voters expressed their determination to vote 'yes' in the first referendum for democracy and state reform.
