Successful entrepreneur Ranju of Sarishabari turns wheel of fortune by raising chickens
Mostaq Ahmed Monir, Sarishabari (Jamalpur)
Rashedul Islam Ranju of Sarishabari, Jamalpur, has turned the wheel of fortune by turning the wheel of fortune by hatching ducks, domestic chickens, pheasants, tiger chickens, partridges, quails, turkeys, Egyptian fowl, and golden chickens in a natural way. Many unemployed men and women have now established chicken farms under his guidance.
Rashedul Islam Ranju is the son of the deceased Gias Uddin Mandal of Boyra Bazar, Pogaldigha Union, upazila. Conscious circles believe that these are also helpful in changing people's fate.
When we went to the field, we saw that they had installed a scientific incubator in their own house in a tin house. Every day, men and women from different areas of the upazila bring eggs to the hatchery to hatch the chicks. Every Monday and Friday, buyers flock to the hatchery to collect chicks. Only 5 taka is taken from each egg to hatch the chicks. Again, if you order over the phone, the duck or chicken chicks reach the specified address. The chicks are hatched by heating the eggs in a natural way. There is no alternative to an incubator when hatching a large number of eggs at once for business. Again, if someone wants to buy chicks without eggs, there is also a system in this hatchery. Depending on the type, each one-day-old duck or chicken chick is sold at a low price of 20 to 30 taka.
In addition, ducks, desi chickens, rajhas, tiger chickens, pheasants, quails, turkeys, Egyptian fowls, and golden chickens are sold. In that case, hatchery owners and employees collect eggs of good quality ducks, chickens, rajhas, quails, turkeys, Egyptian fowls, and golden chickens. They are cleaned and sorted in water, placed in rows in specially made wooden egg containers, and kept in the air of a fan. The eggs hatch within 28 to 30 days.
Roni Ahmed, who raised chicks from the hatchery and started farming, said, "I came to know about Rashedul Islam Ranjur Hatchery. I went there and saw chicks of different breeds. From there, I first bought 20 Egyptian Foumi chicks and started raising them at home. After a few days, the chickens started laying eggs. I stored those eggs and went to the hatchery to hatch the chicks again. Currently, I am raising Egyptian Foumi chickens commercially. I am earning extra money by selling eggs every day."
Kabir Mahmud, a farm owner from Boyra Kulghat area, said, "I used to run a tin shop. Seven months ago, after this hatchery was established, I bought my wife 200 baby chickens and ducks. I raised them at home. When they grow up, I sell them in the market and make good money. That's where I started raising chickens and ducks. Now I can earn extra money by raising chickens and ducks every month. I want to start a large-scale farm."
Abdul Mannan, Rahima Begum, and Maria Akter, who came to hatch the eggs, said, "We go from house to house to collect duck and chicken eggs and bring them to the Mandal Hatchery for hatching. We don't have any chickens at home to hatch the eggs. Moreover, ducks never hatch their eggs. Earlier, ducks were hatched with chickens. Now that hassle is gone. There is a hatchery near the house and here you can hatch the eggs at a low cost and hassle-free. Earlier, if you put them with chickens, many eggs would be wasted, but now the eggs are not wasted. We will hatch the eggs from here, take them home, raise them, eat them ourselves, and earn extra money by selling them in the market."
In this regard, Rashedul Islam Ranju, owner of Mandal Hatchery, said, "I have created an exceptional hatchery to make unemployed men and women in the area self-reliant. You can make good profit by hatching and raising chicks from eggs at low cost without any hassle. I am getting a huge response to this. I also hatch the chicks and sell them locally. Since it is profitable, production is increasing day by day. Later, wholesale and retail buyers come and buy one-day-old ducklings from me and supply them to different parts of the country. Besides, if anyone orders through mobile and wants to get any chick, I carefully send the chicks to different parts of the country through courier.
Upazila Livestock Officer Dr. Mahbubur Rahman said, Ranju Mia of Boyra Bazar has taken a good initiative. We welcome his initiative. Due to this initiative, the farmers of Sarishabari will benefit, besides the unemployed youth and women of the area will become self-reliant. All the government facilities required for raising chickens, including vaccines and treatment, are being provided by the Upazila Livestock Office.
