
Two workers killed being crushed under wheels in Dinajpur

Two workers were killed after being crushed under a truck on the Parbatipur-Syedpur regional highway near the Jagannathpur Filling Station area in Dinajpur at 9:30 PM on Tuesday.
The deceased were identified as Robiul Islam (25), son of Taslim Uddin from Jagannathpur area of Parbatipur upazila, and Sujit Chandra Das (24), son of Sushanta Das from Rajnagar area. Both were employed as technicians at CY Moulding (BD) Company Limited in Belaichandi Monpura area of Parbatipur.
According to locals and police sources, after their leave, the two were returning home on the same motorcycle around 9:30 PM on Tuesday. When they reached near the Jagannathpur Filling Station area, a sand-laden truck coming from the opposite direction hit them. They were thrown off the motorcycle and crushed under the truck’s wheels, dying on the spot. The truck driver and his assistant fled the scene after the incident.
As the motorcycle remained trapped under the truck, enraged locals set the vehicle on fire. Upon receiving the news, police from Parbatipur Model Police Station and members of the fire service arrived at the scene, recovered the bodies, and brought the fire under control.
OC of Parbatipur Model Police Station Abdullah Al Mamun said, two people died in the road accident. The truck has been seized. A manhunt is underway to arrest the driver and his assistant. A case was filed.
