Police arrested a pregnant mother in Khagrachari on charges of strangling her child to death by suffocating her with a pillow late at night.
On Saturday (August 30), the mother of the deceased, Sabina Yasmin, was arrested from a rented house in Shanti Nagar area of Khagrachari Sadar.
The deceased, Tahidul Alam Avan (02), is the son of Md. Mostafizur Rahman, a representative of a pharmaceutical company.
According to local sources, the father of the deceased child, Md. Mostafizur Rahman, works as a representative of a pharmaceutical company. Due to his job, he was living in a rented house with his family in Shanti Nagar area of Khagrachari Municipality. At some point in the night, the child's mother suffocated her sleeping child with a pillow, resulting in the death of the child. Go.
After receiving the information, the police quickly rushed to the spot. They arrested the accused mother Sabina Yasmin and took her to the police station. The body was recovered and sent to the Khagrachari District Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
The deceased Avan's father, Md. Mostafizur Rahman, said that he was working in Panchhari Upazila yesterday to sell medicines. As it was late at night, he could not return home. Suddenly, I received a call late at night that my child is no more.
Although initially the deceased's mother Sabina Yasmin was said to be unbalanced, the police said that it would be confirmed after a medical examination.
OC of Khagrachari Sadar Police Station Abdul Baten Mridha said, it is believed that the incident could have happened late at night. Sabina Yasmin has been mentally ill for some time. An inquiry is underway to find out the reason behind the murder.
