Unprotected Dohazari Hospital: Boundary wall collapsed four years back, no renovation yet

An estimated 20-meter section of the north-eastern corner of the concrete boundary wall of the 31-bed Dohazari Hospital in Chandanaish Upazila of Chittagong has collapsed for the past four years, but the authorities have not taken any initiative to repair it yet.
The hospital area is now unsafe due to the collapse of the boundary wall. As a result, the doctors, officials, employees and servants of the residential building are feeling a lack of security. They are even afraid of loss of life and property.
Four years ago, a large tree near the northeast corner of the hospital was uprooted by strong winds on a stormy night and fell on the boundary wall. It falls on top. An estimated 20 meters of the wall collapsed. The tree was later cut down and removed, but the damaged section was never repaired. Since it was still in ruins, a group of thieves entered the hospital area through the damaged section and stole old iron pipes for water drainage from residential buildings and iron grills from the windows of abandoned buildings. The boundary wall behind the dormitory "As it is dilapidated, there are frequent incidents of theft of various government items. In addition, the place is becoming a safe haven for drug users."
Dohazari Hospital's Resident Medical Officer Dr. Tanjibul Hasan Maruf admitted the existence of the boundary wall and said that the hospital has had residential problems for doctors and nurses for many years. He said that he has repeatedly written to the higher authorities about it.
On the other hand, Chandanaish Upazila Health and Population Officer Dr. Rashmi Chakma said that the issues including the collapsed boundary wall and residential problems have been reported to the higher authorities. "Not only that, the paved boundary wall around Dohazari Hospital is in a dilapidated condition as it has not been renovated for a long time. He said that he has informed the higher officials about the need to repair the entire boundary wall and residential problems on an urgent basis. But he admitted that it has not been repaired due to non-availability of allocation."
