View exchange meet held to establish ideal educational institutions in Satkhira

A views-exchange meeting was held in Satkhira to discuss the initiative of upgrading one primary school, one secondary school, one college, and one madrasa in each upazila into model educational institutions. The meeting took place on Sunday (24 August) afternoon at the digital corner of Satkhira Sadar Upazila Parishad. Speakers said the district administration has been working relentlessly to build model institutions across the district. In total, 28 model institutions will be established in the seven upazilas of Satkhira.

Features of the model institutions will include: 100% attendance of teachers and students, 100% pass rate, Modern and aesthetic classrooms, Playgrounds, physical exercise, and indoor sports facilities, Adequate teaching materials and resources, Clean and hygienic environment, Scouting and Girls’ Guide activities,

Music, recitation, painting, language and debating clubs

Wash block facilities, Daily assemblies, A politics-free atmosphere for both teachers and students, Improved transportation and communication facilities and Ban on note and guide books.

The meeting was presided over by Md. Shoaib Ahmed, UNO of Satkhira Sadar Upazila. Among others present were:

Narayan Chandra Mondol, Upazila Secondary Education Officer

Md. Asaduzzaman, Upazila Primary Education Officer, Md. Mominul Islam, President, Bangladesh Teachers’ Association (Satkhira Sadar branch), Md. Abdullah, General Secretary, Bangladesh Teachers’ Association (Satkhira Sadar branch), Mufti Dr. Akhtaruzzaman, Principal, Satkhira Alia Madrasa, Md. Emadul Islam, Head Teacher, Dhulihar-Brahmarajpur (DB) Girls’ High School, Ashraful Islam, Head Teacher, Rasulpur High School, Abdul Latif, Head Teacher, Alipur Girls’ High School, Abdul Malek, Head Teacher, Nabarun Girls’ High School, Other head teachers, principals, and madrasa superintendents. A total of 40 representatives from primary, secondary, madrasa, and college levels attended the event.

On 30 July, a similar views-exchange meeting was organized at the Satkhira Deputy Commissioner’s conference room, where the decision to establish model institutions was officially taken. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Md. Mostaq Ahmed and attended by:

Bishnupada Pal, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General)

Ripon Biswas, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education & ICT)

Ishtiaq Ahmed, CEO of Satkhira Zila Parishad

Abul Hashem, Principal, Satkhira Government College, among others. Officials said the initiative will significantly improve the standard of education in Satkhira and open a new horizon for the overall development of students.
